A stunning country estate in the heart of Suffolk

Hall Farm is a brilliant farm shop on the Essex/ Suffolk border. They sell high quality local produce, with a cafe restaurant on site that serves everything from teas and coffees, breakfast, or a three course lunch.

With centres around the country, Thetford is their original and still the best. It features 30 miles of bike and walking trails from

Award winning family run vineyard near Bury St Edmunds
If you’re visiting Suffolk and having a day out around the Bury area then why not pop along when they have one of their regular open cellar door days? Full details on their website
Selected products are available to purchase on their website. They have a range of vineyard products including grapeseed oil soaps and bath oil, candles, corkscrews and walking sticks made from antler and vine stems and also offer fruit wines and liqueurs, beeswax products and greetings cards
If you really fancy a day of Suffolk vineyards they’re not too far from Wyken (see separate post) who are open daily
Privately owned village inn, in a lovely old Suffolk building
The menu changes every five weeks and they embrace seasonally available produce. They have a bar, restaurant and terrace, all of which are very comfy. Extensive wine list and cask ales, including the traditional Suffolk favourite Adnams
The food is superb at the Crown and they are open for breakfast, lunch and supper

The crooked house is home to Munnings Tea Room, a delightful place to visit for afternoon tea while exploring enchanting Lavenham. As well as delicious food, they also exhibit a lovely range of gifts and artwork to help support the Injury Jockeys fund.

Great little cafe bar on Hadleigh High Street
Situated in a gorgeous old building with lots of exposed timbers and wonky walls, they serve great coffees, teas, cakes etc
They have a lovely little courtyard out the back too for the sunnier days
One of the best known pubs in Suffolk and a firm favourite with Woodfarm guests
Famed for great Adnams beers, fabulous home cooked food and the most stunning location right on the river Orwell
A proper old riverside pub with bare oak floorboards, pints pulled straight from the keg and the smells wafting from the kitchen. This place is popular with locals and visitors alike and in the summer is heaving outside giving it a great atmosphere

A great collection of independent businesses focussing on arts, crafts, gifts and a lovely little cafe
Having spent a number of years in the past living in Chelsworth, I’ve seen this place develop and it really is a triumph of organic growth or a rural business. It now houses a variety of businesses based around the main ‘Corncraft’ shop and cafe
It’s just on the edge of a pretty little village, Monks Eleigh. It all started in 1970 and is a family concern that has grown from a small Corn Dolly making business to the collection of businesses that you see today

A fabulous 15th century inn, overlooking the village green in this picturesque village. This is the perfect place for a long lunch or dinner, they also serve teas and coffees all day and have a wonderful bar with a roaring fire in the winter.
