One of my favourite local places; formerly The Queens Head it is now very much more a restaurant than a pub. It’s only 20 minutes from our holiday cottages so is a popular stop-off for many of our guests.

The Bildeston Crown
The Bildeston Crown is situated in one of Suffolk’s historic ‘wool towns’. This 15th century former coaching inn is a real treat, with a restaurant, comfortable bar area, open fire, courtyard and terrace.
The Auberge
A fabulous, small family owned and run Restaurant in Yaxley, near Eye. It was once a rural public house providing simple food and drink for locals, but now, after tasteful improvements which retain the cosiness of the historic building, it offers some of the finest food in Suffolk. And I can vouch for that!
The food, ambience and service are excellent. A real family-run place with the emphasis on quality. One of their special dining experiences is the Fruits de Mer. Sourcing the best sea food this platter can consist of Lobster, Crab, Oysters, Mussels, Crevettes, Shrimps, Prawns, Langoustine, Cray fish, Whelks, Clams and anything else that is in season. Please give them at least 24 hours’ notice if you want this dish
