Dennington: The Dennington Queen

Dennington Queen

One of my favourite local places; formerly The Queens Head it is now very much more a restaurant than a pub. It’s only 20 minutes from our holiday cottages so is a popular stop-off for many of our guests.

The Dennington Queen is a large timber framed building set back from road and close to a church, parts of this building dating back to the early 16th century. The landlord tells me that they have a resident ghost (nicknamed Albert) who can be heard pacing around above the bar!

The restaurant has spacious dining areas, a small retained drinking area, plus a lovely outdoor seating for the summer months. They serve great food, wine and beer, and the menu offers light lunches, a la carte dinners, and fabulous Sunday roasts.

The food is excellent and in very nice surroundings! It has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and seem to have a great approach to customer service, which is something close to my heart. It gets extremely busy, particularly on Sundays so it’s well worth booking!
